The ganpati temple situated on the cliff near the sea, hence called Kadyavarcha Ganpati. Built sometime in 1150 renovated in 1768 amd 1780 and again in the 1900s. This is as a Ujwya Sondecha Ganpati (right-trunked Ganpati). The idol is also said to be a jagrut daiwat (live deity), who responds to the pleas of its supplicants (nawsala pavnara Ganpati). Till recently there was no bridge over the creek and pilgrims took the ferry and walked to the temple through the beautiful village of Anjarle. This naval fort is located on a small island in the Arabian Sea near Harnai in Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. Suvarnadurg means “Golden Fort” as it was one of the important coastal forts of Maratha empire. Suvarnadurg fort was built by Sultan Adilshah. He was the Sultan of Bijapur in the state of Karnataka. The Durga Devi temple is located right at the start of the way to the Maharshi Karve - Harnai beach, five minutes from the beach. The Durga Devi temple was built way back in the 18th century with Durga Devi as the presiding diety. The temple has a pyramid-like roof of terracotta tiles, along with a pond and a hanging temple bell to the left of the main entrance. Durga devi temple is a must visit especially if you are staying in Harnai.
Mahalakshmi temple was built during the Peshwa regime and the idol is believed to be swayambhu with a powerful diety. The temple also has the idols of Lord Ganpati and Lord Shiva. This temple located in Kelshi at the base of the Utambare hill. Shree Keshavraj temple is located amidst lush green land, a perennial stream and rolling hills. You can park your car on the Asud Bag road and take a 15 minute trek through coconut, betel nut, mango and cashew trees to reach here. The natural spring originates at the hill top and flows down to the front of the temple supplying water to the stone carved cow mouth (Gomukh) throughout the year.
